This is starting to really bug me, I keep getting the "Rear Lamp Failure" message on my display. I have checked and changed all bulbs in the rear and all are working
. Am I missing something??? Do i need to reset it somehow. It is a 1995 Grand Cherokee Laredo 5.2 Auto if that helps any. Anyone got any ideas??? Thanks for any help.

check third brake light, make sure all three bulbs are lit, if they are then it is the lamp outage module that is bad, on the back left of the jeep, behind kick panel where spare tire is

cool, thanks. Is that the module that is right behind the L/R taillight? I was wondering what that was. I saw it when I was taking out all the nasty corroded trailer hitch wiring that I thought may be the issue. Thanks again, I will check into that as all the 3rd brake light bulbs come on.
Yup. Fairly rarely will that module go out. I had a problem with mine that the sockets that the bulbs are pushed into were worn loose, so the bulb had a lot of play and could flop around. I got one off a junkyard zj and it was all good. (There's a connector that just plugs in.)
WARNING!!!! The bulbs get VERY VERY HOT. So while you're diagnosing this, be careful. I've burnt myself twice on those stupid suckers.

This one kicked my but as well. I read all of the discussion threads associated and still have the fault.
Backup, brake and side markers are brand new. If you look close at the backside of the tail lamp module, its stamped in the plastic which ones to use. Changed out the brake lamps above the window and tried the higher amperage bulbs as well still no good. I keep hearing that the brake light above the rear window has 3 bulbs. My 94 GC only has two. There simply are no more sockets. If so, it would catch something on fire.
I did reset the computer by removing the positive terminal and by turning the key on and off 3 times to get the readout. I got excited once because immediately after the check, display panel shows its fixed but first time you put pressure on the brake it comes back on. At one Terminals all look clean.
