95 GC limited 5.2 v8, on the passenger side valve cover where the crankcase vent tube comes out, there is a popping sound when the engine is running. is this normal? what needs to be replaced?

not normal is the valve cover dented? is it orginal valve cover? i would be pulling that off cause your rocker arms could be hitting the cover

pcv valve....all you can see from the out side is a plastic like hose that comes from the valve cover. the valve cover needs to be removed to get to it

pcv just pulls out of the valve cover and hose easy to change $10 or less
there is a valve inside it and when it gets gummed up it will rattle
