Used Grand Cherokee a good DD?
Are used 2000 Grand Cherokees good? With like 130,000 miles?
My mom had a 97 and she kept it for 10 years. After 100,000 miles it broke down a lot. Will these 2000 models have the same issue? I'm looking to buy a DD under $5000. I've been looking at the Cherokees, but the Grand Cherokee has a much nicer interior and is a little more luxurious.
I will never go offroading with the car, whether it be a Cherokee or a Grand Cherokee. It's primary use will be during the winter and I'll drive it whenever I go hang out in the city.

I've not had any major issues with any of the jeeps that I have owned. I had an 88 limited that had almost 300,000 on it when I got rid of it. I have 4 now 3 grand cherokees and 1 XJ. 3 of the 4 have almost 200,000 miles. I have very good luck with all of mine.
As long as they weren't bashed by the previous owner, I would say they are pretty good
My mom drives a 2000 GC limited with 117,000 and loves it. Only problem it has had is a fan clutch wearing out, causing it to occasionally run hot.
Only thing I dont like about it is the leather, and the ventilation sounds like a jet engine Im not used to it

I didn't think twice about picking up a clean '99 with 170K miles on the 4.0. I've had 2 XJs and 1 YJ, so I know Jeeps pretty well. A lot more electrical stuff on a WJ, but these vehicles are so popular that pretty much any issue that you can have, someone else has already gone through. If you're good at searching online forums, you can manage. Mine is the nicest vehicle I've ever owned and I love it.

My 95 ZJ has 170k miles onit and never misses a beat, I put 9k miles on it in three months, no problems at all. I love my ZJ.
