So I just changed my tranny fluid and filter. Put on new stick filter from wix and valvaline max life. Now, my jeep wants to stall out shifting into 2nd. I have a steep driveway at my house and it dies at the bottom. I restart and almost have to gun it to tue top. I feel like i shouldnt have changed the fluid but it was dark and starting to smell. I know it will probably need a rebuild soon but I want to try to get another year out of it. Anything i can do to fix it? Its a 94 jeep grand cherokee with a 98 4.0 and tranny (last owner did that).

If it's a 98 tranny, it's a 42re and requires ATF+4 only. I'm using Valvoline ATF+4 full synthetic.
Also, check the fluid level in NEUTRAL. Read the stick!
