My transmission on my 06' grand Cherokee Laredo sometimes gets stuck in gear. It varies between getting stuck in 1,2,3, or 4th gear. It never gets stuck as soon as you start it and drive. It only does it at some point after you've been driving it. If I pull over and completely shut the vehicle down then restart it then it will reset itself and work fine. It does this about have the time. The CEL comes on but goes off as well. Can someone tell me what this could be? Thanks.

 

I have an '04 Grand Cherokee that has the same issue. You drive and all of a sudden, your RPM is near 3000. Happens a lot when I'm going up hills.

I hope someone on here has seen and solved this issue.
