Sup fellas I recently just brought a 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee wj my question is I'm trying to change the transmission fluid I already bought the gasket and the filter from a local parts store I just wanted to know if I bought the right transmission fluid Castro ATF +4 or is there a better one should I go to the dealer and buy it there or it doesn't make a difference as long is the atf+4 thank you

Chrysler has a list of approved manufacturers of ATF+4, but I'm pretty sure Castrol is on that list. Check on the bottle to see if it states it's approved.

 

On the bottle it does say Chrysler and jeep

 

Sorry bout that it only says Chrysler I don't see for jeeps but it does says that is required for ATF +4 for vehicle that supports it

 

During the time your jeep was built, Chrysler owned jeep, so where is the problem? ATF+4 has some expensive additives in it so only major producers are approved by Chrysler. I wouldn't worry about Castrol, Valvoline, Mobil, Quaker State, or any other major brand.
