Hello All,

New to the site and first time post. I was curious as to information about replacing the transfer case in a 95 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2 Liter. I have checked on another site but the more information the better. The Jeep has a Quadra Trac system (NP 249) and I plan on swaping in the Select Trac (NP 242). My question is has anyone here ever done this? And how difficult is it? The reason for the swap is that the 249 is going bad and locking up the front wheels instead of letting them free spin in tighter turns. Any information would be great.

I did it about 4 years ago. I got lucky and found one with the right spline count (23) and right length. It is basically a bolt in if those two things are right. Mine came out of a 91 XJ.
