Default Towing a Wrangler??

I'm looking at possibly buying an 88 Wrangler. Would I have any problem towing this with my Cherokee? I have the 97, 5.2 V8 and would be traveling through the Sacramento Valley up around Shasta then up 97 through Klamath Falls so there would be a pretty good climb involved at least twice.

Are you putting the Wrangler on a trailer of any kind? My advice is to have a trailer that carries the whole jeep (both axles) off the ground. If not done right flat towing or the two wheel car dollies can mess up the transfer case/transmission of the Wrangler.

Your Cherokee, assuming it is a Grand will be able to handle this kind of tow. Pre tow precautions should be taken, check coolant level, engine oil, trans fluid.

you will have no problem with power.
if you flat tow or dolly the yj, pull the rear shaft and strap it or cut the bottom off a pop bottle and tape that around the output on the t-case.

just be sure to cancel your o/d on you grand. you don't want to burn out your overdrive unit.
