Throttle Body Spacer
#16
However using a carb or TBI there is proof out the **** that a spacer gives you gains on a stock intake. That is one big reason high rise intakes offer a tall throat for the carb to sit on.
Using a different intake is very different than using a TB spacer in the fact that using an intake with a different design physically changes the way air flows through that intake.

Dont forget about tuning. You can add all the crap in the world to your motor but its useless unless you tune them to work in sync with each other to give optimum perdormance gains.

Let's say what the TB spacer manufacturer says is 100% true that it will in effect "spin" the incoming air. What happens after the air gets past the throttle body and enters the intake on our Jeeps? It has to turn 90* to enter the runners. In a sense any gain you might have had from spinning the air is void... If anything you may have created turbulence that could actually hurt performance...

Yup an engine is just an air pump. But how would a throttle body spacer make a multi-port fuel injected engine any more efficient?

Obviously, there are TONS of "enhancements" out there that are advertised as the "Holy Grail" of performance parts. The only way we'll ever know for sure is to install them and see for ourselves ... or else do our due diligence and use the web to research the effects from end users. And even that isn't always effective because people are hesitant to say that they wasted their funds on something that didn't live up to the hype surrounding it.
As for the spacer ...... I wasn't trying to say that it would help. But trying to point out that most any modification will depend on the addition of other modifications to realize the optimum potential.

I still don't understand how it could possibly be beneficial, but if Go-Jeep runs them, I'm willing to pay attention.
