Default TC part number difference

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 with a 247J transfer case that needs to be replaced. I found a used 247J case. Everything looks the same. I pulled the numbers off the ID tag on the rear of the case. Mine is 52098872AB. The one I want to buy is 52098872AC. What is the difference between an AB and an AC? Will the used one bolt up to my tranny? As a side, I may purchase the tranny that goes with it. My vehicle has over 200,000 miles on it but is in great shape so I want to keep it. The other tranny (and TC) have 100,000 miles on it. $400 takes both. Any ideas?

IDK for sure, but I think as long as the donor car had the same engine as yours, it should mate fine. I'd get another opinion from another CF member before you buy though.

I think the 6 and V8 use a different bolt pattern.
