taking out d35 for a d44 ??

taking out d35 for a d44 ??
I want to upgrade to a dana 44 and I was woundering will a d44 out of a wj 99-04 grand fit in a zj 93-98 grand. are all the mounts the same I know they are both coil springs I was woundering about the links.

I don't think that the GC D44 is the same as what you think it is. I think it has less capability than the older D44. Don't want to be a wet blanket but thought you might want to do a little more research before you buy one.

i think it is a different width and I am sure it will be a different bolt pattern for the lugs. Also the WJ rearend was a triangulated three link suspension with no trackbar where the ZJ rearends are a fourlink with a trackbar. Spring sizes are also different I believe. So yes you could do it but you would have to weld all new attachement points and change your bolt pattern on your rear wheels.

No it won't work, wider, different Bolt pattern and it's a 3 link rear..
As for the GC Dana 44 being different it is, it uses a D44 ring gear with a D60 pinion, there is almost no lockers out there for it and gears are hard to find, Now for the Good you can get alloy shafts for it is a hell of alot stronger than a D35 and the easyest way to find gears for it is to look up Gen 1 Vipers, yes my friend that Viper has the D44HD or D44a which ever you call it or hear it called there talking about the same axle...
