I just got a printout on my 2000 GC. It says that it has regular suspension. I want to beef it, as I pull a trailer sometimes. I don't want to lift it, just a beefier suspension. Any ideas as what to use? Not very knowledgeable in this area.

Okay, here's the thing. My 2000 base Laredo also has the standard suspension, however on the build sheet listed as optional equipment are 4 springs and a GVW of 5350 lbs. They don't specify what springs they are or what package they come with, but I can put over 3/5 ton of cargo in it and the rear end only squats about 2". I doubt your trailer tongue loading would be near that, but you could use shock absorbers with extra springs on them if you need to. The important thing would be a trans cooler. I would recommend Monroe Load Adjusting rear shocks PT#58647. They are designed to support the load without adding harshness to the ride.

I tow a 20' travel trailer with a 2003 4.0L WJ, and solved my suspension enhancement issue by adding Sumo Spring coil inserts #CSS-1168 . The Sumo Spring inserts were economical, about $150 bucks, simple and easy to install, and for me resolved the sag without making the suspension buck-board stiff. Hope this helps!
