stuck in park

Default stuck in park

hey yall

my buddies 97 zj w V8 is stuck in park. he said it starts up no problem but will not shift outta park. he said he heard clicking in the shifter and tried wiggling that and the steering wheel and was able to get it out of park. then ran some errands and it was fine. this morning same thing. then after wiggling the shifter and steering agian 4 a while was able to get it to shift. any ideas? ruling out the NSS since it does start up

most likely a problem with the shift interlock

you can try to disconnect it to narrow it down looking at a pic it has an adjustment

thanks for the reply. the pic isnt working 4 me. think the problem was there was water in the area of the mechanism. when it was colder earlier it was frozen which wouldnt allow it 2 move. as it warmed up today the ice melted and its working fine now. so now to fix the leaky windshield

nope still a blue box w a question mark in it, but dont worry about it. seems to be fixed now anyway
