Which steering parts to diagnose?
This is for a 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7 4wd with 125,000 miles (80% highway driven)
When I turn my steering wheel left or right, I feel like it slides a bit too far before I get any response from the wheels to follow, especially leftwards. I would say I need to turn the wheel by maybe more than half an inch to get some response? What does this mean? Anyone know? Thank you.

Have someone turn the wheel why you try to inspect all the steering linkage for something that looks loose. The key is not turning the sterring wheel enough to turn the tires, just enough to stay in the loose feeling part or play. You can also jack the front tires off the ground and try to turn them by hand while looking for something loose.
