starting trouble

starting trouble
I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee that wont start. good battery, new starter and battery cable, Makes a clicking sound when tring to start sometimes. dash goes crazy. bypassed the relay and still nothing. any help would be great. thanks

Could be a problem with corrosion/moisture in the connector to the PCM. With the pos cable disconnected, disconnect the PCM connector and check it for any corrosion, moisture, or loose pins. JMO

clicking noise indicate that low voltage is getting to starter or you have bad flywheel. Sometimes the starter "hung-up" in bad spot. If stick is easy - put the higher gear and bounce, but with auto it my be more tricky. 4Low range my do it or manual turn the crank. Some starters require shim. I am new to Jeep, just got one a month ago.
