Default Starting problems from cold

Hi Guys, I have owned my 4.7 1999 grand for about 3 weeks now, it had a number of issues from the start which have now been resolved ( I hope ) But one of the "common faults" I seemed to pick up on the internet when deciding which 4 x 4 to buy said " Early new shape grand Cherokees suffered from cold starting problems" This seems to be the case with mine. it takes a good while to start if its been standing any length of time ( some times only 4 or so hours ) I thought that a change of plugs and air filter would have resolved it for me as she runs smoothly with them fitted but has not resolved the starting, I am at this moment convinced that it is fuel related. My next step is to look at cleaning the injectors. Am I on the right track or was this "common fault" resolved and I am not aware of it?
Cheers
Phil

Check out the TSBs and see if any apply to your issues. http://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb.htm#ENGINE

Its all double dutch to me to be honest, I am still a beginner. But an odd thing happened relating to my cold start problem in so much as the jeep has been in kit form for the last 2 days while I stripped it down to replace the water pump and fit a new radiator. I turned the engine over before I refitted the filter box not expecting it to start, and it started first time! So could it be air mixture related on start up?
