Default Starting problem

So I have a little bit of a weird problem i have been having with my car. For months, after getting gas or stopping at the store quickly, I'll try to start my jeep and it won't do anything. I'll sit there and move the gear shifter up and down until i can get it to start. A couple nights ago, this happened and it would not start at all. I came back the next morning and it still would not start, the lights would go dim, then bright again, or be completely off. I buy a starter and replace it and it fires up just fine. I go to leave for work a couple hours later and the same thing happens. I replaced the battery terminals yesterday and it worked again. After stopping at the store tonight, it wouldn't start. The first time i tried, the inside lights went really dim. I disconnected the ground terminal and reconnected and they came back on full and then went to start a couple times and they went completely out.. Opened my passenger side door and they suddenly come on a few seconds later, then go back off after trying to start. I did this a few times, with the same thing occurring until finally the lights wouldn't come back on and it was completely dead. Finally, I disconnected both terminals for a few minutes, put them back on, and it started up with no problem. I am going to get my battery checked out tomorrow, but I'm thinking it could be some connection problem? If anyone has any suggestions/ideas, BESIDES getting the battery checked out, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!

Check your battery cable ends. The one for the smaller post (-) is probably stretched out so the ends are tight together at the clamp bolt and not making a good contact. What I did with mine was take the bolt out, cut the slot wider with a Dremel tool, put the bolt back in and it clamped tight. This is common with factory lead cable ends.

Worked for me!
