Starting issues
#2
Bang on the starter motor. Get under passenger front wheel well, look up about 1/3 the length of vehicle you'll see the starter and it's solenoid, clang around with a kitchen knife. This is what I do when it won't start, until I get it fixed.
This is probably obvious if you know automobiles, but if you are a novice and never changed your own oil, even, it might be helpful
Aim for the middle of this pic with kitchen knife or screwdriver, even, as you are under the jeep's passenger front wheel well with your head pointing to front.

What is the reason its not starting like no power to the starter or a electrical, fuel type issue. More info on your WJ would be helpful to others trying to help you.

Old fart with a wrench
Not so easy to check for spark with a coil pack unless you stick a probe into a rubber boot, and that's not a good idea. Of course you could remove the coil pack!

No bother! I just am sensitive to this because I DRIVE ONE and wish it was easy! It would also be better if we knew if this was a 4.7 or 4.0.
