Have a new oem starter to put in our 01 GC Limited 4.7. There is this large round can shape on the tail pipe next to starter and can't seem to get enough clearance to remove it. Am I going to have to take it to a mechanic? Hubby has always worked on vehicles but he's pretty frustrated on this one. He's managed to get the bolts out but it's not coming out. Any suggestings or pics or ????

hey any time i have trouble i use a web site called justanswer.com/car/jeep. i've never posted on there but i've searched other post and found exactly what i needed. from what i understand its only certified and factory mechanics reply. i've never beeen asked to purchase anything there as well. i hope this helps.




p.s. i once had a car i had to jack the engine up a couple inches to get the starter out, but i'm not familar with newer jeeps
