Default Stalling out

I have a 97 grand cherokee larado with the 6- 4.o automatic. It just started stalling. Changed air filter & added fuel injector cleaner but still does it. IF you run it and let it sit for a bit it will do it.Does not seem to do it when it sits over night just when its warm. Seems like a vapor lock or its not getting some gas/air driving me nuts. Anyone that can help I would be very greatful. Thanks Marty brwaterdogs@aol.com

sounds like your fuel pump is done. Now I don't know for sure if the 4 l uses a in tank pump like a V8 does. But that is a symptom of a in tank fuel pump.

I was thinking that or a plugged filter. But im not sure because its ok when motor is cold. Might check all you electrical connections around fuel and air box. My mazda did that and it was just a plug in on the air box.

its the cold part that make me think it is a pump. When the pump is cold it will work better, then after it gets going it warms up inside and will quit. They fail very often when the weather is really hot and the payment is cooking. I suppose a fuel pressure guage would let you know if there is a problem.

That is something to keep in mind. I did not know that. I might be installing a fuel pressure gauge then.
