Splice 1994 enigine bay harness to a 1998
I'm putting the engine trans and transfer out of my wrecked 1994zj and need help with splicing the wiring harness to a 1998 I was told I'll need to use the transmission mod and the ECM out of the 1994 but the electrical drawings for each are not a direct cross over anyone ever done this and can anyone offer help or direct me in a positive direction.
Thanks!

Welcome to CF!
The engines are the same except for the head design, so why not just use all the sensors and electronics from the 98 on the 94 without splicing anything. The trans should be a 42re so the 98 TCM should work on it. You start cobbling the harness and you're asking for trouble. JMHO.

I agree with Dave, trying to splice in the '94 wiring to the '98 is difficult because the '94 uses an older ECU that isn't programmed specifically to the vehicle, while the '98 does.

One problem you MIGHT have is mounting the accessories. You'll have to use the 98 units on the new motor and I hope all the bolt holes are there on the 94. Remember you're going to a serpentine belt from a v-belt so you'll need the 98 water pump and fan also. They spin in opposite directions.
