Sound system questions for a 07

Would I need a new head unit to install two kenwood 12s 1000w subs?

no... they sell kits that wire in to the speakers so you can plug in your rca cables

if so all i would do is splice a speaker wire and connect the rca speaker wire to it?

that prolly would work... but i would go to best buy or abc warehouse... its like 12 bucks. its a box that splices into your speaker wire, then you plug the rcas from the amp into it
