something draining battery on 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited.....
Anybody else had a problem with battery going dead after sitting for several hours even though the Alternator shows to be good? Had to buy the "quick-release" clamps and have to disconnect them from the battery whenever I shut the engine off for more than just a few minutes. Would be grateful for any imput. Thanks in advance folks.

Sounds like either the battery is going bad or you have a draw that's draining the battery. Check to make sure the battery cables are in good shape and tight. Also check to see if you have anything that's getting power while off that shouldn't be. Take it to an advance auto and ask for them to do a parasitic test on the battery. It will tell you if something is draining the battery.

Have battery load tested ..also. A test light can also be used at home to check for draw.

We've had a lot of these dead battery problems lately. When you find out what it is, please post it so others can find theirs.
