Default some 1999 Grand Cherokee questions..:)

ok... if anyone can answer these that would be great...

whats the normal litres per 100kms on jeep ? I'm getting average 17 litres per 100kms... i get 400kms from a tank around town and about 550 on highway.

does a OB2 data logger read O2 sensor faults ? when i read sensor faults from OBD2 it shows me nothing is wrong, but seems to be running quite rich..

also when reading live O2 sensor data they are all over the place... up and down, no real consistent readings....

sometimes when i turn left at low speed i get a noise from the back, kind of a low rumble noise ? if i had to guess at the sound id say it was exhaust crackle... but its coming from the other side on the rear ....

thanks guys !!

14 city MPG and 19 highway sounds about right. The o2 sensors aren't renowned for they're accuracy.

The low rumble isn't from your exhaust.

any ideas on the low rumble then? diff ? its 100% to the left hand side of the car, and ONLY when turning to the left at low speed also... tho maybe i can't hear it at higher speeds....

The rumble / whine at low speed while turning seems to be a fairly common issue. I have a 99 WJ that has been doing it for a couple of years! There have been lots of suggestions on what it can be but I haven't come across anything definitive.

I have changed the diff fluid but it didn't really work and while it seemed to make it a little better, it did come back.

More recently it seems to have got better but I'm still looking for why it makes the noise in the first place.

If you have a search of the forum you will find a number of threads and post about this problem.
