So my security was permanantly disabled by grounding the purple/yellow wire in driver door. Months without issue.
I went doorless and activated the alarm, so I grounded it in the hanress right before the security brain. Problem solved, runs drives all good.
But after a few minutes of driving today my security light came on. Now anytime I start the jeep the light comes on after a few minutes.
Why is this happening if its disabled? I'm about to go on a road trip and it concerns me.

I dont know enough about the system, so this is speculation:
Most security systems runs circuits. Say one for the doors, one for the windows, one for movement and so forth. I wonder if the system Jeep uses does the same thing. One for the doors, one for the hood?
The other thought is, how does the Alarm Module tell us, when it goes bad? Does it turn the light on?

It has to run circuits in order to function, but the disarm wiring to those points has all been removed and the system is "tricked" at the brain where these connections feed in to tell it everything is ok. So none of those triggers can send a signal.
As for the brain when they go bad the jeep becomes a paper weight. I know mine is good because the alarm system works if you unground the disarm wire.

I am having the same issue with my 94. I have grounded it at the brain and my light stays on it has no run issues but I'm still worried everytime I have to start it lol

I ungrounded the brain today and the light went off so I'm thinking its just that the brain is sending the pcm a signal that the brain has a short wich in turn kicks the light on that is all I can think of

If I unground mine the alarm goes off and disables the jeep, but I have no factory wiring going to the doors at all so anytime the alarm is on its in distress with no way to disarm it. Hopefully so long as its grounded all there will be is a light....

How about a continuous duty 12 volt relay in the ground circuit? If you wire it from the 12 volt source, every time you start the truck the relay will open then close back again. That would give the alarm module a door opening and closing (ok a really fast open and close but you get the idea)

Wired correctly, it will stay closed when the engine is running, and closed when the engine is not running. Thats the neat thing, every time you start the car, it appears a door is opened and closed.

what if you unground the wire and once the alarm goes off; go to the back hatch and turn the key in the rear hatch lock. (passively disable alarm) Maybe then re-ground the wire while its already passively disabled.
hey I got one... rewire the alarm correctly; go get a FOB, program it.. Then when you have your doors off you still click the unlock and lock button to arm the car alarm. That would be funny, seeing someone turn on their car alarm with no doors.

re-wiring the alarm would be a nightmare since almost none of the wiring in my jeep is factory.
the relay is a neat idea now that i understand it
