Default rough shifting when cold

I have an 02 grand cherokee. We have had issues with leaking since we bought it a couple years ago. We were finally able to determine that the leak was coming from the transmission cooling line at the radiator. We replaced the radiator and tightened the hose and most of the leaking is gone. However now when it is automatically shifting between gear speeds it was throwing me into the steering wheel with really hard shifts. But after it warmed up ran fine. And just today it would throw me when shifting between reverse and drive. My biggest fear is that coolant has gotten into the transmission fluid. The fluid on the dipstick seams kind of runny. Would a mechanic be able to do a flush and determine if that's the problem?

adjust the kick down cable under the hood.

Welcome to CF!

If the transmission cooler coil had burst, the coolant in the radiator would be pink foam and greasy looking.

One thing I do is shift to neutral and let it warm up a little before driving off. It seems to make a difference.
