Default rough idle/stalling

hello, i recently aquired a 95 orvis editon jeep! I have been having a strange problem with it. It runs good most of the time but ive been having an ide problem, sometimes when i come to a stop the thing whats to gradually drop in rpm and start shaking and the tach is sitting at 0. but if i put it into park when its doing this, it revs real fast then idles perfect, but then it mite just do it agian at the next stop. But it dosen't always do this. In my opinion this thing must have a bad ignition switch or something else electrical..i could also the originals?

when did you service your transmition last time?. Torque converter my be responsible. In gear you put "load" on engine. It could be spark plugs, wire, distributor rotor. No "check engine" lights on?

Theres a TSB (technical service bullatine) on it. Un-hook battery, install new revised iac (idle air control), hook battery back up, start vehicle, hold brake and ebrake, put in drive for at least 5 min. Shut off and restart. That will re-learn the new iac

any parts store should carry it, it bolts right to your throttle body witha torx bit. Any ones in stock at a parts store will be the revised one for that old of a vehical

ok well sorry it took a while to respond! i did get the idle thing installed and since then i have not experienced the rough idle and stalling problem, however, there has been times where the thing wouldn't act up for a couple weeks then it would start doing it again so all i can really do is wait and see if it happens..

Please try to keep us updated. This issue has come up before and the IAC TSB was discussed but no one could point to the actual TSB. I would like to change mine but I am not wasting $70 on something that is not going to help with my idle.

I will let everyone here know if or when the erratic idle is experienced again.. Have you pulled the black intake tube off of the top of the throttle body? mine had a ****load of carbon build up in there that im sure was interfering with the linkage and the idle control valve..you mite wanna spray some crab cleaner in there man..buy like 3 cans haha and BTW i only paid $50 for the idle control valve. from advanced auto..

Why would anyone want to spray crab cleaner in there? LOL
