Roof Rack Cross Bars- What to buy?
i'd appreciate any help on what type of cross bars to buy to fit the stock rails on a 2012 cherokee.
i just want something simple and basic for occasionally putting luggage, christmas tree, etc. on the roof.
i saw some universal ones which have straps that go into the door's weather stripping. some people said water leaked when it rained so i'd prefer to not use anything with straps.
I'm looking for something like this:
but i don't think this will fit because my rails are flush with the roof so they won't be able to grip under the rails.
thanks in advance

Those black strips on your roof cover the mounts for the roof rack side rails. You have to mount side rails first.

Whatever the local version of or current iteration oh U-Pull-It. That place is like the mecca of auto parts. Sure beats the dealer prices. OUCH. Plus on parts like that there is no will it work questions, what you see is what you get.

The OEM Mopar cross bars work well, but are noisy. They cost about $225.
The Whispbar cross bars that can be purchased through Yakima mount exactly the same but are very quiet. They cost about $400.
Both cross bars require OEM roof rails (front to back).
