so pulled everything apart to change the head gasket and on reassembly one of the push rods fell in and i cannot retreieve it from the top so i have to pull the head back off. Can i reuse the new head gasket or once the head was torqued back on the first time i cannot?

No once it's torqued down that's it. Can't you grab it with a magnet stick?

 

I couldnt grab it with a magnet. it got wedged in there good (even with the head off i needed pliers to help me pull it out). after looking at the gasket i need to get another new one. i can reuse the new head bolts i put in though correct (2 uses maximum)?

 

Yea you can reuse the head bolts.
See if you can return the gasket as a defect. Just say it was leaking.
