Replacement wire harness for OPSU 2000 Grand Cherokee 4.0L
My wiring for the Oil Pressure Sending Unit (OPSU) needs either a repair or a replacement. Does anyone sell a replacement wire harness for this? I've Googled with no success and I'll probably wind up just going to a salvage yard and pulling one, but would prefer a fresh one if it's available.
For the record - I experienced the standard oil pressure [reading] drop at hot idle (seems to be a common problem with the 4.0) but have diagnosed it's faulty wiring in the OPSU connector/harness. After struggling with this intermittent situation for a while, I finally popped the hood one afternoon with the engine running and gauge reading near zero and separated the wires immediately out of the harness and the reading rose back to around 40. It did fine for a while but happened again a couple of weeks later with the same fix. The problem has returned yet again but "jiggling the wires" doesn't fix it anymore and I'm assuming the wires are all jiggled out and replacing the connector and/or harness will fix my particular problem.
Thanks in advance for any insight or suggestions.

Are the OPSU's and OPSU harness's that much different on the same 4.0L in the XJ and as they are in GC? I would think they would be the same. I'm just looking for a OEM wire harness supplier after all.

Probably part of a major harness so you'll most likely be best off with a junkyard part. Is oil leaking from the sending unit into the harness plug by chance?

Yeah it ties-in with a few other bundles at the side of the engine, so I'm thinking junkyard as well. My only concern with that is getting the same problem with old (and maybe abused) wiring and connector. Was just wondering if anyone sold the stand-alone replacement (connector and a few inches of wire) is all. I may even look into rewiring the connector myself.
Nope, no oil leaking from the sending unit that I can tell.

3-wire actually (for a gauge).

Is the harness funky just next to the connector?
