Default Replace my Dana 44A with a Dana 44

I own a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 Quadra Drive with a Dana 44A rear Axle,
but the Axle carrier bearing failed and caused the carrier race to spin and damaged the aluminum housing.
So can I replace my Dana 44A Axle with used Dana 44 Axle from another Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 with Quadra Drive?
Will I have any issues? Will I have to do any modifications?

To my knowledge there is no direct replacement. You could graft one in, but you would have to fabricate brackets and redo backing plates for your brakes and sensors etc. Lots of work

I was told last night that all 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with V8’s with 4x4 n Quadra Drive came with the Dana 44A rear axel. Is this a fact??

Another Dana 44a from a 99-04 will bolt right in, since that's what you already have.

G2 Offers a Dana 44. But, be ye prepared to pay $$$$$ Like 4.3L XJ said, you could do it with lots of fab work. For the price of a G2 assembly, you could probable have 4 or 5 Dana 44s built

The only iron Dana 44 was in the 98 ZJ 5.9 V8 as far as I know. All the others were D44a's. I think you can find them in Dodge trucks, but they are leaf springs. Your 03 is also a 3-link rear suspension which uses a ball joint on top of the center section to attach a triangular suspension control arm.
