Default Recommended Lift?

Im looking for a 4 to 4.5 inch lift kit and was wondering what other WJ owners recommended. I have a 2004 Overland that I want to lift up and this is new territory for me. (Used to wranglers) Id also like to keep the price as low as possible, but no budget space kits. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I know once I recommend a lift somebody else will chime in and say it's junk. Rough Country has lifts for WJs for a pretty fair price, and a lot of others offer what you're looking for too. Do some research and spend a little more for a complete system, taking the cheap route will only **** you off later. Go to the SpikeTV Extreme 4X4 site and look for the WJ build that was done on the show. You'll get some great ideas from those episodes.

Great post. Agree. Nothing like someone giving an opinion based on their first vehicle they owned.

Great reply...

Ill add, I have had Rough Country and Zone. I think they are close. This time around I went with Zone because my local shop cut me a deal. Cheapest I could find.

It just depends on what you're wanting to do with your rig and how much you're willing to spend. Anything 4" and up will require extra components(i.e. new driveshaft, longer swaybar links, longer bump stops, control arms).

My 4.5" Zone lift came with everything needed. Longer driveshaft wasn't required.

I paid $470 included nitro shocks

It all depends on what type of driveshaft that your WJ came with. If you have the dreaded double repezza, then you most definitely will need a longer driveshaft.

And...that is an XJ kit, not a WJ. The OP was asking for advice/opinions for WJ's.
