Hi,
I hope someone can advise me as to how get rid of the following problem. I had knocking sounds in my rear differential (1997 Grand Cherokee 5.2 L) during both the right and left turns.
In the workshop I was advised that the reason of such sound is broken or worn out spider gears. We have opened the differential and indeed 2 of the rings were broken and have replaced them. After the replacement, it worked well without any sound but just for 2 days and then started again. I am planning to reopen the differencial again but would appreciate any advise or comment with this regard.
Did anyone faced the same problem after replacing the spider gears?
Thanks in advance.
