Default Rear axle seals

So I had my right rear axle seal replaced on my 99 wj. So they r pressed on the axle with the wheel bearing. My mechanic said he replaced bearing n seal on right axle n said he replaced the seal on the left as well without replacing the bearing cuz he had the special tools to replace the seal without removing the wheel bearing. Is that possible when they r pressed on???

I'd pull the tire and rotor to inspect the retainer plate and nuts. It will be easy to tell if they were recently removed.

FWIW, I've never heard of any tool that can stretch a seal. I'm not buying it......
Seems like a decent enough response.

Just replaced my rear axle seal and bearing. I don't see any possibility to replace the seal without taking old bearing and retaining ring out. Perhaps, if you could press them out without breaking them you could reuse them. But I don't see any reason why you would like to do that.
