If you have one remote programmed to the vehicle then you can program it yourself. If you have no remotes programmed then it MUST be taken to someone with a DRB III tool. Had this issue with my WJ, ended up going to the dealership and paid $54 to get two remotes and a key programmed.

Im a locksmith in kc the remotes for chrysler are easy to do. I use an mvp key programmer to do em. I think you can add one with a existing remote. 20 bucs sounds right if someone brought it to me.

Quote: Go to this place... https://www.ikeyless.com/ type in your vechile and it will give you the model # and thier price for one. BTW thwy are by far the cheapest so if your not in a rush you can order one from them and just have a local guy program it.
Ok, so lemme get this straight... I have a 96 zj limited, i know it has a stock alarm but, as far as I know, the PO never owned a fob for it, so obviously I don't either. According to your website there, I can order one from them and have it programmed to work?

Contact the service department of the nearest dealership, they can look it up using your VIN #.

At least thats how I verified my old durango was equipped for keyless. You definatly wanna shop around for a key fob though cuz their asking price for one is gonna be astronomical.
