power steering pump 96 ZJ

power steering pump 96 ZJ
I have a 96 ZJ that my power steering pump went out, the problem is 96it had the EVO port in the pump for pressure relief valve. I got a aftermarket pump, used my resevior and speed proportional steering solenoid and still no power steering. Does anyone know if I can use a 95 or 97 pump without the speed proportional steering and just bypass it? Please help!
