Power steering fluid - contaminated ?
2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo - 42004 miles - all maintenance & recall has been done by dealership - now they are saying next oil change power steering fluid needs to be replaced ($129) because of contamination. Told it was normal to replace power steering fluid. Since when? No mention of replacing power steering fluid in maintenance schedule.

Welcome to CF!
For good maintenance, ANY fluid should be changed at intervals depending on severity of service. Heat is the main factor in the breakdown of hydraulic fluids like transmission or power steering. If you want it to last a long time, change the fluid!
You can do it yourself for a lot less than $129. Just be sure to use the proper fluid!
