Power Steering bracket
Hey everybody,
I am new here and was hoping someone could shed some light on something for me. I recently got a 1993 Grand Cherokee Limited in great shape. I found the power steering bracket had a major crack from the top bolt hole, bad enough it made it twist and the belt is riding 1/2 and 1/2 on the pulley. This is a dealer only part, so I checked a couple yards and found 2. Unfortunately they were both cracked the same way. I got one off of E-Bay new, but I was wondering- has anyone else come across this issue? Is it common on these early 90's Cherokees?

Are you talking about the steering box spacer? The stock one is a piece of crap.
JCR sells a much stronger one:

I have a complete pump and bracket sitting on a shelf off of my 95 4.0, never noticed any cracking. I switched over to a 97 pump and bracket when I swapped to a 99 intake manifold, it has a bracket on the back that bolts to the block.
