Wanted to ask...

In my 98 ZJ
I have 2 codes that are coming up every now and again...

PO442 Evap system small leak

PO455 Evap system large leak

where do I begin looking for leaks in the evap system ? How do i find them ?

 

I know this is an old post, but I was just going through some older posts since I just joined not too long ago. I had the same two codes popping up. It turned out that the small evap leak was a hose in the drivers rear (by the evap cannister I believe) that had a crack in it. When the crack got so bad that the hose came off the nipple, it became a large evap leak. Was able to cut an 1" or so off the hose and put it back on the nipple. No problems since.

 

John boy, thanks for the reply. I found a small hose thats from the hard plastic line to the canister under the from drivers headlite and fixed it today.

I will clear the codes and see how it goes this week and then if it happens again I will keep on looking !
