Default planning work for the winter ;-)

Since i have a litle low compression 110-125 and it smells gas/exhaust from the oil i think i shold replace piston rings and head. If i should take out the engine (then i can remove som rust in bay to) is best to remove Trans (AW) and TC first and then remove engien, or is it possible to remove the engine with the trans attached? I will replace the A/C, so i would remove radiator and condenser, is it then possible to take it out in the front?

Its a 93 ZJ, 4.0L, AW4

Pulling the engine with the transmission can be done, and I find it to a little easier to pull both. Pulling the upper core support, radiator, and condensor will give you a lot more room and you won't have to dangle the heavy lump and an extreme angle to get it out of the hole.
