Hello, I am working on a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I am looking for the felt splash protector across the tie bars.

Pictures below. Does anyone know the part number or more importantly where I could get one from?

These images show my intact, then repaired 5534 6021 engine splash guard. That part has been discontinued. It might be possible to get a decent example from a junk yard.

Mine was repaired using double sided tape (to retain position prior to sewing) and my industrial sewing machine. I used a flexible rubber sheet, cut to form a patch shape. That rubber material is available from McMaster-Carr.

Mine is retained by push fasteners, not bolts,

I've been looking for these splash shields to duplicate. If you have or know of an old one (or better yet NOS one) I'd duplicate one for free.

I now have the one like Wingless shows above. Isn't that the 955346021 for 93-98 Grand Cherokee ZJ? The Russian website buys Jeeps from Japan and parts them out. That splash shield was used and there was no easy way to buy them. In fact the guy I was finally able to communicate with stopped communicating. I'm thinking now was a scammer. I tried buy a splash shield from an Italian website that looked very nice. Guys was a thief. Be careful. The Italian website just grabs authentic looking photos from US car dealer sites, claims they have the parts and then never deliver or communicate again. Nice. What a great world the internet has created. Made it so easy for scum to operate.

I also JUST got and NOS one that I found on a German website. Took 2 MONTHS to get. Its for 87-93 Cherokee XJ It has a couple brass grommes and a riveted steel plate. Gonna take a bit longer to duplicate. I'll make all the pieces from stainless.
