Exclamation Parking Sensors

Ok...so I had a parking sensor that one day went inside the bumper. I had it fixed when I had my car serviced...and two days later, as my dog jumped into the back, he kicked another one inside!!

I spoke to the guy who fixed it and he told me that all you have to do is take off the bumper fixings, pull the bumper back, put your hand up until you feel the sensor, then just pop it back in!

Everything was fine until the 'pop it back in' part!

The sensor has to fit flush to the housing, but at the moment there is a clear rubber seal around the silver part of the sensor that is supposed to pop through the hole.

1. Is that in the right place or did it spring there when the sensor came loose?
2. There is also a metal clip...does that have anything to do with holding the sensor in place?

Can someone please give me an idea of what I need to do!?
