Default 98 grand Cherokee still stalling.

K so we replaced ignition coil, fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, did the pcm screws, cleaned a ton of sensors and it still dies. I can sit in park and rev the engine it does fine, but when I put it in drive I can go about 10-15ft and it dies. It cranks right back up fine and I drive another 10-15 ft and it dies again. I'm bout ready to burn this thing down. I'm so tired of wasting my money and time. Someone please give me some good advice. Should I try the crankshaft position sensor or does that not sound like my problem?

And when I say it dies It's just the engine, like all my lights and stuff stay on just the engine goes dead and the gauges go down, like if you had the ignition turned on accessories or something.

It wouldn't hurt to clean your crankshaft position sensor, or IAC valve. Does it die before or after shifting out of 1st? Or do the RPM's never reach that high?

90% of the time is after shifting out of 1st but the other day I made it down to our mailbox and when I put it in park to stop and check the mail it died just sitting there.

Please let me know if you get this resolved. By chance does your fuel gauge work?(mine doesn't) and my 96 Grand Cherokee is doing the same thing. I was told to do the cleaning of the valve and will once I can make it move farther than my driveway. Someone also said to clean the throttle bottle and butterfly. (I don't understand it, but my brother does) If I get mine fixed I will let you know the solution. Thanks

Does it restart immediatly afterwords?

If no, jump out when it stalls and check for spark and fuel. Also, while you crank, see if your tach moves at all. If the tach dont move, it is probably the crank sensor, if there is no spark, it is probably the crank sensor. If there is no spark or fuel, it is probably the crank sensor....

See where this is going?

Now if there is spark, but no fuel... then it is probably something else.

Vic- yeah my gauges work fine. Everything is fine except it won't stay running

And I'll check that tach thing in the morning. I hope that crank sensor is the problem and I can get this resolved It's a real big pain in the butt. I heard It's hard to get to to remove. Is there like a trick or easy way of gettin to it?

My old zj use to die on me all the time, I replaced tps,iac and many other things. People say its the connections at the pcm. Most people just zip tie them and they say it works

I have seen that a few times where the connections at the computer will get loose and allow it to stall

There is no fuel filter. It's made on with the pump.
