I'm looking for the location of the parking brake set switch, the light goes out even though the brake is set, my guess is that the switch detent is worn out. The park brake light is functional.

I'm kind of confused... you said the light goes out but then you say it is functional? What generation of Grand do you have? ZJ, WJ, WK, or WK2?

I'll try to clarify, the dash light for the parking brake lights up when I turn the key to the on position along with the other indicator lights, so I know the bulb is good, however, the light turns off along with the other indicators after a few seconds despite the parking brake lever being in the set position. If I release the park brake and reset it, the brake dash light doesn't light to show the brake handle in the set position. I have an '03 WJ .

In other words, it works on the bulb test sequence on start, but doesn't indicate the brake is set, right? Near as I can tell, the switch is under the console on the brake lever assembly.
