p0455 question

p0455 question
Afternoon all, I am working on a 2004 grand cherokee with the 4.0 6 for a friend. It has been giving me a p0455 code. Smoke tested and found a few holes, fixed them. Replaced the fuel cap also. Still giving the code after 3 or days of driving.
My question is I guess, should any air be escaping the system at all? I can hear air when I smoke test it from where the canister is. It appears there is a vent cap on one of the big hoses where it is coming out. Should this be happening? Any help would be appreciated.
