Odd Issue
Well every now and then the ZJ 5.2 won't start unless I give the gas pedal a tap. It cranks but won't start. Lately it's gotten to be every time. It only seems to do this on cold starts. Also, my driveway has a slight hill and it seems to be more difficult to start on the hill. 2-3 gear seems to hesitate as though it doesn't know what gear to go to. Some of the symptoms I've read seems like this could be a TPS going bad? No CEL accept code 32 for the EGR valve. I have already replaced the parts below as maintenance:
CPS
Cleaned IAC and TB
New Battery Terminals
Fairly new battery
Any suggestions would be great as I don't want to throw parts at it!

Old fart with a wrench
Try disconnecting the throttle cable and move it by hand. See if it's hanging up. Sometimes a wire in the cable will break and hang up inside the plastic liner. Just an idea. Test the TPS with an ohmmeter. You can get resistance specs from a Haynes manual or others.

When you test the TPS, check for smooth transitions of values as you move the shaft. There may be dead spots in the resistor.

Haven't had time to check voltage to TPS, however I just disconnected the wire from the sensor and it still starts the same way... Won't start until I press the gas?

Well it wasn't the TPS. It was the fuel pressure regulator. When it gets cold the fuel regulator at the rail is leaking down into the intake, giving it gas was equalling the air/fuel ratio allowing it to combust. A simple way to test this is to let the engine get cold and pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator and if it spits fuel, it's bad. The rubber diaphragm has failed. PROBLEM SOLVED
