Default OBD on 1994 WJ Limited 5.2L V8

Is there a diagnostic port on this Jeep? If there is, I can't find it. I search this forum and found a drawing suggesting it was under the dash above the brake pedal. I can confirm it is not. Is it to old for ODB? Does anyone know what would make the check engine light come on after a few miles of driving? Checked all fluids and it is not getting hot. Oil pressure gauge reads normal. Gas cap is tight. Trying to figure out where to start trouble shooting. Any suggestions?

There is a sequince you have to follow to get the check engine light to flash the codes on an obd1 jeep.

The 94 is a ZJ, not a WJ.

The 94 is OBD1.

It has three diagnostic connectors.

The engine one is next to the PCM, under the hood on the passenger side.

The brake one is above the gas pedal.

The airbag one is on the hump by the passenger seat.

Thanks for correcting me. ZJ, Got it. I assume the cheap OBD II scanner I have will not work with these diagnostic connectors. Do you think something like this would work?

The listing says not good for 1995 Grand Cherokee. Your 1994 is identical to the 1995.

A DRB II tool is the way to read codes on your vehicle. (Note, the Jeep / Eagle adapter on the right is not required.)

Four DRB II parts make a complete system for your vehicle.

Those are the DRB II, the module, the interior cable (top center) and the engine cable (bottom center in image).
