o-ring adapter monster
First time post long time reader. As this 61 year old is a shade tree mechanic,I finally had the time to give the adapter a battle. I read in one of the forums of removing the motor mount bolt and raising the engine. If you have had those mounts replaced lately, they are on pretty tight. Raised the whole car, stopped lowered the engine again and loosened the driver side mo mt. Placed a jack and 2x4 on base of oil pan and the engine swiveled out of the way. That gave me access to the #60 torc/with drive ratchet. the bolt was stubborn all the way out,but it did come out. When jacking the engine DO NOT lower the jack below the mot mnt brackets it will fall away from the bracket and is very hard to re-align.replaced the rings and re-installed with the help of wife and daughter. Total of about 5hrs. Will share with any who are willing to try it all steps I took.
