Welcome to the forum.

It is generally preferred to start a new topic, than to resurrect an older topic.

The early NP249 transfer case required matching tire circumference to prevent damage to the viscous coupler. On mine I discovered from measurement that matching tires and pressures satisfied that requirement.

The NP249 (even the early version) is a fine transfer case w/ great characteristics when used properly.
