Saw this same issue posted in a thread from 2012, but no resolution was ever supplied. SO, I'm hoping someone has some guidance for me? 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.. Has been running like a horse forever. After driving around today with no issues, had to go back out. Both ABS and Brake warning lights came on. power windows, a/c, interior lights, turn signals etc would not work- pulled over to side of road and when I put in in PARK - there was a very loud screeching noise. had no choice but to put it back in drive - and go to the closest gas station, where it again screeched when placed in park. I quickly turned off the ignition. A few minutes later, I re-started the vehicle.. Everything worked, no brake warning lights came on, no screeching noise, drove home without issue. Anyone ever hear of this or have suggestions on where to start for diagnostics? Thank you!
